FENG SHUI - Crystals
by Julie Holycross

Feng Shui is the Chinese system of placement. Using the Feng Shui placement will make a difference in the way your environment feels. How does it feel when you walk into your home? Does it feel welcoming, happy, content and uplifting? Or does it feel stark, untidy and bleak? By using Feng Shui you can change or enhance the feel your house brings to you.

Feng Shui works by moving, adjusting and adding certain objects to balance the flow of energy in your home. The flow of energy is referred to as Chi. There is good and bad Chi. To balance your home with good flowing Chi, there are certain techniques used. A popular object used frequently in adjustments is the crystal ball. Crystal balls help direct Chi to flow smoothly. They help bring a positive energy force throughout the room. They work best in well lit areas like windows to receive sunlight. Crystals can also enhance certain areas in your room that seems to be a problem. For instance, if your entryway immediately goes upstairs or is facing stairs, money seems to flow down the stairs and out the door. If you hang your crystal in between the stairs, it redirects the flow of Chi. Spherical crystals are good to use. They come in all different sizes. Just pick the size that feels right for you. When you hang your crystal, think of the intention you want to manifest in your life. For example, if you would like more wealth, hang a crystal in the wealth corner. The upper portion of a window would be best if you have a window in that area. Then envision more wealth coming your way while hanging it up.

Some things to remember about your crystals is to never use a chipped one. It could bring unwanted results. The flow of energy is changed. It is also a good idea to routinely clean your crystals to keep them at their best. Even once a month is fine.

Crystals can also be used to help balance out a missing corner of your house. Crystals can also be used in offices and be placed in cars. Crystals are just one of the many adjustments you can make to your home. Other adjustments that are used are mirrors, lights, wind chimes, bells, plants (real or man-made) bonsai, flowers, an aquarium, fish bowl, mobile, windmill, fountains, stones, statues, bamboo flutes, use of color, transcendental cures and more.

Knowing where to put these objects to create the effect you want is important. Usually you have a choice of objects to pick from. For example, if you do not want to hang a crystal in a certain area, you could place a plant or mirror in it's place to create the same effect.

If you are interested in learning more about Feng Shui, educate yourself on the subject. There are a lot of good books, seminars and consultants who can help you. Just remember to have fun and enjoy!
